About the Course

Our Bloodborne Pathogens training course is designed to provide helpful information for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians on the prevention of bloodborne pathogen contamination. Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are at greater risk of exposure due to the services they perform in the pharmacy and in dealing with patients who might be ill. The objective of this course is to teach compliance with bloodborne pathogen OSHA requirements and how to take proper precautions in preventing exposure to potentially dangerous bloodborne, and other, pathogens.

You have 6 months from enrollment to complete the course. Specific completion deadlines may be mandated by your employer. You can log in and out of your training account and your place in the course will be saved.

Course Outline

Training Requirements

OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (29 CFR 1910.1030) requires employers to provide information and training to workers. Everyone in the workplace has the potential of exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens and/or Other Potentially Infectious Materials (OPIM's), therefore it is advisable to have every employee in the workplace complete training.

Employers must offer this training on initial assignment, and at least annually thereafter, and when new or modified tasks or procedures affect a worker's risk of occupational exposure.

Certificate of Completion

Upon successful completion of our Bloodborne Pathogens Course and final exam, you will be able to immediately print your completion certificate from your My Account page. It will also be e-mailed to you.

If you lose your Bloodborne Pathogens certificate of completion and need a replacement, you can log back into you account and print additional copies.

Continuing Education Option

At the end of the course, you will be able to select the option to claim your ACPE Continuing Education credit for this course.
